What We Believe

  What We Believe

What We Believe

·   The Bible is the sole source of all our preaching and teaching.   (1 Corinthians
        4:6;  2 Peter 1:16, 2:3; 2 Timothy 4:3)

·   Men inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible without human error or
       personal bias.  (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21-23; 1 Thessalonians 2:13;
       John 14:26; 2 Peter 3:16; Revelation 1:1,2; Acts 4:25; 1 Corinthians 2:13)

·   There is one God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  God is Triune.
       (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 15:26)

·   The Father is fully God.  The Son (Jesus) is fully God.  The Holy Spirit
        is fully God.
        (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 17:3; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; Colossians 2:9; 2 Peter 1:1;
         Acts 5:3,4; 2 Corintians 3:17; 1 Corinthians 12:6)

·   The Bible is first and foremost the revelation of God’s plan of salvation for
        the whole world, not simply a book of moral rules.
         (John 20:31,31; 2 Timothy 3:15)

·    Eternal salvation cannot be earned by good works.
        (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 3:19,20; 4:1-3; Galatians 3:10,11; 5:4)

·    Jesus Christ, God’s Son, earned salvation for all people by living a sinless
        life, suffering our eternal punishment on the cross and rising victorious over
        death.  (Galatians 4:4,5; Romans 4:25; 5:19; Isaiah 53:5; Ephesians 1:7;
        1 Peter 1:18,19; 1 Peter 1:3; John 14:19)

·    God’s undeserved gift of love to the whole world is that whoever trusts in
        Jesus as their Savior will receive eternal life.  (Ephesians 2:8,9; John 3:16; 5:24;
        Philippians 3:7-9; Romans 1:16,17; 3:28)
